Kuka ostaisi valkoista Silk Gardenia? Minäminäminä. Websistä.
Se on ihanaa. Tietenkään se ei ole ihan valkoista, mutta muihin Noro-lankoihin verrattuna voisi sanoa että on.
Tämä valokuvaus vaan on ihan mahdotonta. Joko on säkkipimeää tai sitten liian kirkasta...

Who would by white Silk Garden? Me me me. From Webs. It is wonderful. Of course it is not really white but compared to the other Noro-yarns you could say so. The photographing is impossible. It is either pitch dark or too bright...


Sen kaveriksi tuli sitten tuollaista ruskean harmaata, katsotaan mitä niistä syntyy. Mitään sopivaa valmista ohjetta en ole löytänyt. Kaikki Norosta kudottu on ollut hullun kirjavaa ja röyhelöistä. Me suomalaiset olemme tunnetusti suoraviivaisen raidallista porukkaa. Joudun siis kääntymään Elizabeth Zimmermanin prosenttisysteemin puoleen. Kirja on Opinionated knitter ja perustuu ohjeisiin vuosilta 1958-1968.

To accompany the white I also got this grayish brown yarn. Let´s see what comes out of them. I could not find any pattern that I would have liked. Everything made of Noro is wildly colored and ruffled. We Finns are known to be straightforfard and stripy. So I will have to use Elizabeth Zimmermans percentage system again. The book is called Opinionated knitter and it is based on news letters from years 1958-1968.

Opin juuri - I just learned

Bat-Baktus onkin Batkus... Olisi pitänyt arvata. Se on kuulemma ollut hyvin vaikea valmistaa, varsinkin korvat ovat vaikea osuus. Olen niin kiitollinen. Olen juuri käärinyt sen pääni ympärille suojelemaan avaruusolioiden hyökkäyksiltä.

I should have guessed... Bat-Baktus is actually a Batkus. I heard that it has been extremely difficult to make. Especially the ears was a challenging part. I am so thankful. I have just wrapped it around my head to protect me from the aliens attack.

Tänään raahautuessani töistä kotiin roikkui ovessa tuo.... Kyllä. Ovessa voi roikkua tuollainen kotiin tulessa. Minäkään en tiennyt ennen, että niin voi käydä. Nyt tiedän. Mietin vaan mitähän muuta ovessa voikaan roikkua jos tuo kerran jo oli siinä.... Taas yksi fobia lisää.

Today as I dragged myself home from the work I found that hanging from the door.... Yes. It is possible that this sort of a thing can hang on your door. No, I didn´t know that could happen. Now I know. Just makes me wonder what else could possibly be hanging on the door if that was there... One more fobia.

Se on hyvin monikäyttöinen ja puuvillainen. Korvat asettuvat kauniisti otsalle.
It is multypurpose ja cottony. The ears nicely set on your forehead.

Palauttakseni mielen tasapainon kudon loppuillan tuota. Siinä ei tarvita aivoja. Kunhan kutoo tarpeeksi vinoon.
To keep my mental balance I will use the rest of the evening to knit that. You need no brain for that. Just keep going diagonal enough.

Noro Sekku

Nuo tuossa... Ne ovat Noro Sekku-lankaa. Uusi tuttavuus, pitsivahvuus ja kerällä on 420 metriä. Puolet on puuvillaa, loppu villaa, nylonia ja silkkiä. Yritin aloittaa Zetor-huivia, mutta puihin meni. No, Zetor on vanha viholliseni, vain kerran olen saanut sen kudotttua. Pääsin jo varmaan 50 kierrosta kun toinen laita alkoi näyttää joltain ihan muulta ja tuo lanka.... siitä ei ota erkkikään selvää.

Those up there... That is Noro Sekku-yarn. A new friend, lace weight and about 420 meters per ball. Half of it is cotton and the rest is wool, nylon and silk. I started a Zetor-scarf but had to give up. Zetor is an old enemy of mine... only once have I completed one. I got about 50 rounds but then had to give up because the other end looked too suspicious and that yarn... it didn´t help at all.
